About Kitulgala
Situated in the central west of Sri Lanka, Kitulgala is a small town within the rain forest.
Interestingly, the white water rafting at Kitulgala takes places on the nearby Kelani River which was the location of the award winning World War 2 film “The Bridge on the River Kwai”. Only the concrete foundations of the bridge remain from the crowning scene when they blew up the bridge with the train on it!

White water rafting excursion on your Sri Lankan tour
We offer flat water rafting (grade 1) and white water rafting (grade 3, for over 12s) at Kitulgala as an optional excursion during our 15 Day Sri Lanka Group Holiday and 15 Day Sri Lanka Itinerary for Groups for £20 per person.
