Sitting within four acres of immaculate landscaped gardens, Hotel Suisse is perfectly located within central Kandy, right on the banks of the famous and historic Kandy Lake.

This large hotel in the centre of Kandy is steeped in history and in the 17th century was the home of the Chief Minister of the Royal Granary. It has changed hands a number of times since then, first bought by the British who used the impressive building and grounds as a residence for a prominent army officer. The house was then sold to a Swiss who ran the building as a hotel; although during the world war the hotel was the headquarters of the South East Asia Command. Post war the hotel became what it is today, a high standard hotel enjoyed by many.
