This beautiful hotel is popular with more up-market tour groups and independent travellers in Sri Lanka. The 137 hotel rooms are located in two storey villas which are dotted through the beautiful extensive wooded gardens and are all linked by winding pathways. There are three restaurants in the hotel which offer not only international cuisine but very local cuisine. One of the restaurants offers organic fine dining using produce from its own organic farm!

This is a Resthouse and therefore by definition is more basic. Kithulgala is about a 2hr drive south-west of Kandy and is situated in the rainforest. It has a magnificent location set on the banks of the Keleni River. It is an old colonial building which was used as the HQ when the film “The Bridge over the River Kwai” was filmed here with David Lean. This quirky hotel will give you an insight into what colonial life was like. It has a fantastic view of the river and the virgin rainforest on the other side of the river. There is no pool but you can swim in the river if you swim where the locals swim. The rooms are simple but adequate – it is the location that is sublime!

This hotel next to Sigiriya opened in 2014 and is unusual in that whilst there are extremely comfortable rooms ( all decorated in a minimalist style), they also have tented rooms (which also have all the modern conveniences such as queen Anne size beds with thick mattresses and AC), where you can discover the thrill of having some adventure yet with some luxury! The fabulous backdrop to the hotel is the rock fortress at Sigiriya and to the left, Pidurangala Rock Temple.

This hotel is a very beautiful old manor house dates back to the 18th century and was owned by the head chieftain of Galle which still retains its essential features of courtyards, columns and verandahs but has been converted to a really luxurious small boutique hotel that uses many modern comforts. All the rooms lead off the central courtyard and pool.
The hotel itself, it nestles in 3 acres of beautiful gardens where you will find a fabulous pool tucked away in a quiet area surrounded by lush foliage.
From the hotel, it is only a 15 minute drive to Bandaranaike International Airport so is perfect either after a long flight, or if you have an early departure

Kandyan Manor is a traditional Walauwa located about a 20min drive from the centre of Kandy in and idyllic situation surrounded by rainforest and tea plantations. The manor house itself is very old and there are many old family pieces of furniture. The owners have tried hard to keep that feel of a “home from home”. There are 2 rooms in the house and 2 in small chalets overlooking the lush garden which do have a feel of great privacy. It is basic but the location, service and delectable food are real winners.
