This fantastic beach resort opened in 2012 and combines the tropics and the Mediterranean in its style. The restaurant has a romantic setting looking out over the infinity pool to the Indian Ocean. The large tropical gardens offer plenty of places to relax or you can enjoy the amazing golden beach, one of the best you will have seen.
This fabulous hotel opened in 2011, features wooden chalets (which overlook a stunning infinity pool) and gives the feel of a Sri Lankan fishing village. All the rooms are luxuriously furnished in a contemporary style. Beyond, you have fantastic views of the Indian Ocean and the beach is one of the most perfect tropical beaches you will have ever come across. The hotel has a very chilled out atmosphere so is perfect for relaxing or perhaps for a honeymoon.
This is a small boutique hotel set by itself on the stunning Kalkudah bay (this is the next bay down from Passekudah), so you really do feel as if you are on a deserted tropical beach! It does offer great value for money for the fantastic facilities. One of the rooms is a family room which has a twin-bedded room in the attic, above the master bedroom – great for families!
Jungle Beach opened in 2012. It is a unique eco-retreat fronting on the one side, the almost deserted Kuchchaveli beach (being 27km north of Trincomalee, this is the furthest north of all our hotels) and on the other Periyakarachchi lagoon. All the villas are luxurious and have a distinct Sri Lankan feel thatched with Illuk grass.
Chaaya Blu has consistently been one of the best hotels in this area and is situated on a beautiful just to the north of Trincomalee. Having been totally refurbished in 2010, it is decorated in a distinctly nautical flavour using blues and whites. It has an informal laid back atmosphere and families are made to feel very welcome.
Anilana Passikudah is designed as an intimate and luxurious retreat right on the beach. All the rooms are large and have magnificent views of the Indian Ocean but are so designed so each retains its own privacy. Of particular note is the astonishingly beautiful infinity pool where you can relax on the many day beds or sun loungers. The private beach is calm and in the wider Passikudah Bay, you can enjoy a variety of water sports.
