This is a delightful small eco-retreat with 2 villas (and a tree house for the more adventurous) which are all surrounded by lush vegetation and bordered by a rocky water stream. All the lodge rooms are designed with exclusive wooden furniture which gives them a special feel. The villas have attached bathrooms with hot water showers. There is no AC but there are overhead fans to keep them cool.
This beautiful boutique hotel is set in 80 acres of the most gorgeous gardens and forest in the hill country not far from Diyaluma Falls. Each villa has a private courtyard, outdoor jacuzzi and hot water garden shower. There is of course the most exquisite infinity pool where you can relax and take the stunning views over the forest and enjoy the peace and quiet. Having only 4 rooms, Koslanda really does feel very intimate and the situation is magical.
This is a brand-new hotel that was opened in late 2013. All the rooms have breath-taking views of Ella Rock, Little Adams Peak and down the Valley to the southern plains – these have to be some of the best views in Ella. All the rooms have all modern conveniences and each has its own balcony where you can sit and take in the stupendous view. Unusually for Ella, the hotel has a pool.
The Country Comfort Hotel in Ella is a hotel with bags of natural beauty on its doorstep.
Set right in the middle of the popular town of Ella in southern Sri Lanka, the hotel is surrounded by pretty gardens. The original building was a colonial type bungalow that was converted into hotel accommodation with 8 rooms. Subsequently a three-storey block has been added with 12 rooms. The hotel offers great value for money.
Clove Tree House is a newly converted old tea estate bungalow which is simply furnished to make your stay as comfy as possible. It is situated in an unspoilt valley well off the beaten track in the hills above the Ravana falls, near Ella with spectacular views of Ella Rock and Lipton’s Seat. There are wonderful walks, waterfall pools to swim in and an abundance of birds and wildlife. It is the perfect place to relax. A 5 min walk away is Amba Estate where you can learn the process of tea making in their micro tea factory.
Due to the intimate nature of the accommodation, they can’t cater for children under the age of 5yrs.
This home stay is on a delightful small organic estate growing both tea and spices. It isn’t as grand as many of the tea bungalows but does have a rustic charm all of its own. You can stay in the main bungalow which has 4 double rooms and 2 bathrooms. It is about 40mins from Ella and is perched above Ravana Falls with fantastic views of Ella Rock and Lipton’s Seat. You can take tours of the tea estate and micro tea factory or enjoy one of the many walks to be had in this area and the fantastic sunrises and sunsets. Would recommend a minimum of a two night stay.
