Pavana Resort near Udawalawe National Park is a small friendly guesthouse in Embilipitiya (the centre is a 5min walk away) which offers very good value for money.
The eight rooms available are fitted with wooden furnishings, and are cooled with either air conditioning or a fan. There is a small pool in the garden to the rear and Wi-Fi is enabled in much of the hotel.

Pavana is the perfect resort for visiting Udawalawe National Park, the third most visited national park in Sri Lanka and a magnet for wildlife lovers from across the globe.
Udawalawe National Park has well over two hundred elephants who are attracted to the Udawalawe reservoir within the park. Other popular mammals to spot include the Sri Lankan leopard and the sloth bear, although the latter is notoriously difficult to locate due to its rarity. Wild board, water buffalo and deer are commonly spotted.
The park is also a great place for bird watching with endemics such as the grey hornbill, red faced malkoha and spurfowl among the parks residents.
